Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would be considered, in America's eyes, into the class of child prodigies. For a child from Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family, these were very natural traits. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented home on the 17th of August 20th in Ranelagh. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman in Dublin who also owned a part of the Irish Shamrock Rovers, a soccer club in Ireland. Maureen FitzSimons first FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was young and became very good at them. Her talent for performing was a perfect complement to her interest in athletics. It was evident when she was awarded each Feis for theatre and drama which Ireland could offer. By age 14 she was admitted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre and operatic singing.
